⑷ Basic requirements of the procurement :
A The system is an energy storage device consisting of electric double layer capacitors with a large capacitance, which will be placed at the Institute for Solid State Physics (Kashiwa, Chiba). This system stores a large amount of charge and releases it to an electromagnet for a few seconds.
B The system must satisfy the following specifications.
a The energy storage device consists of three independent energy storage units, two of them with the energy storage capacity of 60MJ or more and one with 30MJ or more.
b Each unit must have the maximum working voltage of 2,400V or more. The capacitance is 21F or more for the 60MJ unit, and 10.5F or more for the 30MJ unit.
c The maximum discharge current is 18,000A or more for the 60MJ unit, and 9,000A or more for the 30MJ unit.
d The energy storage devise must maintain the performances required for the experiments more than 10 years, even if it releases a large current with the maximum working voltage every 2 hours and is operated 5 times a day for 200 days a year. The maintenance and inspection of th...
