• Request for proposals are invited for Event Management Services for Understanding Risk Forum in Japan 2024 Issue Date and Time: Aug 23,2023 12:00 Closing Date and Time: Sep 05,2023 05:00 Solicitation Number: Rfp 24-0093 Institution: Ibrd/Ida Assignment Location: Japan Issue Date: September 06, 2023 Closing Date and Time: September 27th, 2023 (5:00pm Washington, Dc Time) Brief Description of the Assignment: The Disaster Risk Management Team at the World Bank is Looking for a Hybrid (Online and Onsite) Events Management / Production Company to Manage the Production and Organization of 2024 Understanding Risk Forum and to Make the Event a Space for Creativity, Innovation, and Inspiration. 2024 Understanding Risk Forum is the Five-Days Global Conference that will be Held in Mid-June 2024 in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The Conference is a Platform for Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing, and Innovation in Assessing, Managing, and Reducing Disaster Risk. The Event Seeks to Build Bridges between Experts, Organizations, Academia, and Others, to Move from Understanding Risk to Action in Disaster Resilience, Supporting Current Processes of Collaboration and Regional Integration in the Context of the Asia Sustainable Development Agenda. The Program will have Different Formats, including Plenaries with Keynote Speakers, Technical Sessions, Ignites Talks, Training, Field Trips, and Spaces for Participants' Networking. The Successful Consultancy will have to Demonstrate Capacity in Producing Hybrid Events, the Capacity to Work in Hyogo, Japan, and the Ability to Work in Japanese and English. Place of Assignment: Hyogo, Japan Commencement Date: June 17, 2024 Background Understanding Risk (Ur) is an Open and Global Community of Almost 20,000 Experts and Practitioners Interested and Active in the Creation, Communication, and Use of Disaster Risk Information. Ur Community Members Share Knowledge and Experience, Collaborate, and Discuss Innovation and Best Practice in Disaster Risk Assessment. The Community Members Come from More than 200 Countries across 2,200+ Organizations. Ur is the Preeminent Platform for Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing, and Innovation in Identifying and Assessing Disaster Risk. Objectives of ur24 Promote Disruptive Innovations in Disaster Risk Management and Resilience by Bringing Together Policymakers, Financial Risk Managers, and Development Partners, from the Region and around the Globe. Ur 2024 Seeks to Strengthen Regional Integration and Collaboration on Climate and Disaster Risk Management. This Objective will be Achieved through: (I) Providing Opportunities for Knowledge Exchange on Disaster Risk Management among Experts, Government Officials, Private Sector Participants, and Academia from Different Countries. (Ii) Capturing Best Practices and Identifying Areas for Collaboration, including Partnership among Governments, Private Sectors, Academia, Ngos, Communities, and Development Partners on Disaster Risk Management (Iii) Strengthening Cooperation on Climate and Disaster Risk Management among Asian Countries.
