Description:
The objective is to support the World Bank team in operationalizing the M300 Patient Capital Facility (PCF) by reviewing and finalizing the Fund Operations Manual. This includes validating fund structuring, governance and investment strategy, while ensuring alignment with development goals and World Bank safeguards.The M300 PCF is a World Bank initiative designed to accelerate access to Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) across Sub-Saharan Africa. Implemented by Africa50, the facility will channel concessional capital via equity investments into intermediary Investee Funds, which then invest equity in DRE companies operating in Africa.Key deliverables are: providing reviews and updates to the fund operationalization roadmap; providing review and update to legal documentation; offering recommendations for fund governance, capital structure, and risk management; conducting due diligence on selected investee funds; developing/reviewing the project financial model; and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation framework.The assignment is expected to last three months, with the consultant working closely with Africa50 and the World Bank teams to develop the Fund Operations Manual for the effective deployment of concessional capital to DRE companies in Sub-Saharan Africa.
