    ⑷ Basic requirements of the procurement :
    A The system is a charge-discharge unit which is used for charging a large capacitor bank and for discharging a large amount of stored charge. This system will be placed at the Institute for Solid State Physics (Kashiwa, Chiba).
    B The system is used with the energy storage device that is scheduled to install separately at the Institute for Solid State Physics. The energy storage device consists of electric double layer capacitors and has large capacitance to discharge large current through an electromagnet for a few seconds. The charge-discharge unit consists of switches and control panels that are able to control the large electrical current from the energy storage device.
    C The system must satisfy the following specifications.
    a The system connects to three independent energy storage units, and charges/discharges these capacitors. Here, the energy storage capacities of two units are 60MJ or more, and that of one unit is 30MJ or more. The maximum working voltage of each unit is 2,400V or more.
